Amador Rodríguez (Ceuta, 1926 - Madrid, 2001), although born in Ceuta, Spain artist was considered one, since his childhood and part of his youth was spent in Cangas del Narcea place they were natural parents.


self-taught artist, after a brief dedication to painting sculpture began his career in the late fifties, becoming one of the leading representatives of the abstract sculpture in Spain. The exhibition displays the collection of Amador funds belonging to the Museo Casa Natal de Jovellanos, comprising an important collection of sculptures, paintings and works on paper, either drawings and collages and prints. The sculptures can take a tour of the sculptor's career, with some of his most significant. The remaining works closer to the viewer the artist's studio, procedures and working methods. In the case of the paintings are creations that Amador himself called "entertainments" and performed using as substrate cigar boxes on which spread its research on the shape and color. Among all the works stand out for their brilliance collages, designed in some cases as in other autonomous creations as preparatory work for his sculptures.
